About Out of Network

We are taking mental health discovery back from gatekeepers.

Out of Network exists because too many seekers and too many therapists are tired of systems built around friction. For many people, finding the right therapist is not just search. It is trust, time, and dignity. We built this platform to make discovery direct, transparent, and human.

We are building a directory where independent providers can be discovered without performing for opaque algorithms or paying for special placement. Seekers get less noise, less gatekeeping, and fewer dead ends. Our mission stays the same. Remove friction that does not help healing and keep the focus on meaningful connection.

People over profit

Mental health care is not ad inventory. We care more about trust, outcomes, and human dignity than denial rates, utilization quotas, or investor pressure.

Therapist freedom

Therapists deserve autonomy over how they work, who they serve, and how they build sustainable practices. Out of Network supports independent care, not administrative maze running.

Radical accessibility by design

Keeping provider publishing at $3.99/month is intentional. Low cost means more therapists can show up, be visible, and grow without paying gatekeeper prices.

Transparency and plain language

No hidden placement tiers. No paid ranking shortcuts. No legal word smoke in product copy. We say what is true, what is self attested, and where our scope starts and stops.

Timeline how care got captured

The timeline of corporate greed in mental health.

Care first values got replaced by corporate incentives. We are building the comeback with therapist freedom, people first access, and zero insurance drama.

Then care first

Community care was the point

Therapy used to center people, relationships, and long term healing. Trust mattered more than quarterly numbers.

Shift consolidation

Corporate scale moved in

As big networks grew, decisions got farther from therapists and clients. Care became a line item instead of a mission.

Now profit pressure

Lobbying and incentives distorted access

Systems rewarded throughput, denials, and friction. Therapists burned out while people waited longer for real support.

What we are building

A people powered reset

Out of Network keeps it direct with private pay providers, transparent profiles, and no insurance gatekeeping in the middle.

Your next step is to skip the gatekeepers.

Our mission in practice

What we are actually building step by step

We are intentionally starting simple with therapist discovery, direct connection, provider owned profile data, and lightweight operations. Simplicity is not a shortcut. It is risk control. By staying focused, we reduce compliance exposure, move faster on reliability, and avoid pretending to be a full clinical infrastructure stack.

At launch, we support therapist profile onboarding with required private pay attestation language, Stripe based subscriptions, and optional platform tips. We do not sell paid ranking tiers in browse results. We do not sell access to client records, because we do not store client records. The product stays close to purpose and helps people find independent therapists while helping therapists be found.

We take policy integrity seriously. If a listing claim appears inaccurate, we use correction and enforcement workflows to address it. We stay fair, transparent, and consistent across all providers, including related party listings. Trust breaks when rules change depending on who you are. So our rules do not.

Clarity and disclosures

What we do and what we do not do

  • We are a directory platform, not a care provider.
  • We do not store clinical records, diagnoses, treatment notes, or session transcripts.
  • Private pay status is self attested at launch unless explicitly labeled otherwise.
  • Tips are optional, and 100% of tips are allocated to marketing so more customers can find the right therapist.
  • Related party listings are allowed and held to the same standards as every other listing.

We publish public legal disclosures so users and providers can understand platform scope and launch constraints. For details, see our legal pages.

Where we are headed

A long term movement not a short term campaign

We are not here to recreate broken systems with prettier branding. We are here to shift power back toward therapists and people seeking care. That means disciplined product choices, honest disclosures, and practical tools that reduce friction. If you are a therapist building independently or a seeker trying to find real fit, this is for you.
